Graduation Day
(Source for found poem: "Oh, The Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss)
"Congratulations," you've made it!
"Today is your day!"
Twelve years of school done,
Graduation is today!
Some weeks went on forever,
long school days aren't fun.
Getting through long days "is not easily done."
But you succeeded,
didn't "lag behind."
You worked your hardest and used your "mind."
With the "brains in your head" and the "feet in your shoes,"
you had an important choice to "choose."
To walk down a path of triumph and feat,
or drag yourself down a "not-so-good street."
So here you are now in your cap gown and tassel.
Wasn't the homework and studying worth the hassle?!
You sit there "waiting for" you name to be said,
to receive that diploma for your new life ahead.
"Wherever you fly, you'll be best of the best."
"Wherever you go, you will top all the rest."
Believe in yourself and never lose hope
in your dreams, your goals, and "the places you'll go."
